ECC Ireland's seminar on the Proposals for a Directive on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) & the Regulation on Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) on 16th April 2012

Promoting awareness of and access to, Alternative Dispute Resolution is an essential part of ECC-Net's objectives and in that context ECC Ireland is hosting a seminar on ADR which will take place on Monday 16th April at the offices of the European Commission Representation in Ireland.

The seminar will focus on the role of ADR in the resolution of consumer disputes. It will be opened by Mr. Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, and our key note speaker is Professor Christopher Hodges of Oxford University, an international expert in ADR. Other speakers come from the relevant statutory sector, existing ADR schemes and the business community, both at EU and national level.

The presentation overview will include:

• Applying ADRs to compensation for antitrust breaches
• ADR: Irish Consumer Perspectives
• ADR: Society of Irish Motor Industry's Perspective
