What we do
The European Consumer Centre in Ireland provides the following services:
- Information and assistance
- Feedback to the European Commission
Information on your consumer rights in the EU
- Assistance in solving your cross-border consumer disputes
- Access to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (non-court) body, if we cannot solve your dispute
- Education and outreach programme for schools, universities, community groups and others
- Produces free information leaflets
Projects
- ECC Ireland produces reports on specific problem issues e.g. air travel, ecommerce, timeshare and holiday clubs, cross-border bank charges, etc
- Participates in joint ECC Network projects and pan-European surveys and research
- Cooperates with other EU networks and national consumer organisations and enforcement agencies e.g. National Consumer Agency, Food Safety Promotion Board, the Consumers Association of Ireland
Feedback
- ECC Ireland also provides feedback to the European Commission on the key cross-border consumer problems faced by Irish consumers. This means that by you contacting us with your complaint, we can identify problem areas and contribute to policy discussion on changes required in that area
