| August eBulletin Renting a car is one of the most convenient ways of exploring a country whilst travelling abroad. However, the procedures and charges involved in hiring a car are not always as clear-cut as they may seem. Many consumers encounter difficulties in the form of unclear policies, inadequate information, or additional charges. Car rental was the fourth biggest area of complaint for consumers contacting our office last year. In this month’s ebulletin, we explore some of the problem areas that consumers may encounter and provide tips and advice on how to avoid any difficulties. Our consumer query of the month relates to fuel policies for car hire abroad while our success story relates to a consumer whose rental car did not have the specifications advertised. |
