European Commission Radio Ireland: Advisory on social media impulse buying

25 April 2021: The European Consumer Centre is advising users of social media to think twice before engaging in impulse buying online.

It says it is receiving a growing number of complaints from people who purchase goods from uninvited ads that pop up on their screens.

The Centre says people are purchasing goods from such sites outside the EU which, in a growing number of cases, are never delivered.
