The European Commission’s 2023 Consumer Conditions Scoreboard provides an overview of recent consumer experience and behaviour of Europeans in the Single Market.
Key consumer protection findings reveal that – post-COVID -, “only 33% of consumers agree that they would accept a voucher instead of a refund in case of travel cancellation. Consumers are frequently exposed online to unfair practices. For example, 69% of consumers had come across reviews that did not appear genuine. Some 94% are worried about their privacy in relation to targeted advertising.”
